Bangalore Metro Green Line

Bangalore Namma Metro Green line was inaugurated in March 2014. It runs from Nagasandra located in northwest, and Anjanapura to the south. The distance between these two locations is 30 kilometers and has 30 stations. Green Line: The Green Line is elevated, just four kilometers long, and has three stations underground.

New Metro Trains to be Added to Namma Metro for Seamless Services

BMRCL has made this decision to reduce waiting times and make your commute less challenging.

The Big Update: 96 New Namma Metro Trains

Currently, the network (approximately 97 kilometers long) operates with 58 trains on the Green or Purple Lines and 6 trains on the newly built Yellow Line. This isn’t enough for a city that’s constantly on the move. Here’s the strategy for new arrivals:

• Immediate boost: Three brand-new trains are scheduled to hit the tracks in June 2026.
• Line-specific splits: 21 new trains are coming to the Green and Purple Lines, and 9 trains are on the Yellow Line.
• Overall goal: BMRCL aims to reduce the frequency between trains to a 4-minute gap. It’s like not having to run to hear the doors closing!
