What is GRAP?

The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is a structured policy framework. It is implemented in Delhi NCR to address air pollution.

Stages of GRAP

Stage 1 (Poor) - AQI 201-300 Stage 2 (Very Poor) - AQI 301-400 Stage 3 (Severe) - AQI 401-450 Stage 4 (Severe Plus) - AQI above 450

GRAP Stage 3 Restrictions in Delhi

Due to severe air pollution, Stage 3 of GRAP has been implemented. Under this measure, non-essential construction and demolition activities, non-essential mining.

Construction Work Halted

Under GRAP Stage 3, all construction and demolition activities must be halted immediately. Builders cannot continue their work, with the exception of essential government projects.

Impact on Project Timelines

The project timeline gets extended due to the suspension of construction work. Builders may face penalties under RERA for delays in handing over possession.

Labour Employment Hit

Construction workers who work on daily wages have no work to do. Many of them are returning to their hometowns, resulting in the loss of their jobs.
