The Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) is a structured policy framework. It is implemented in Delhi NCR to address air pollution.
Stage 1 (Poor) - AQI 201-300 Stage 2 (Very Poor) - AQI 301-400 Stage 3 (Severe) - AQI 401-450 Stage 4 (Severe Plus) - AQI above 450
Due to severe air pollution, Stage 3 of GRAP has been implemented. Under this measure, non-essential construction and demolition activities, non-essential mining.
Under GRAP Stage 3, all construction and demolition activities must be halted immediately. Builders cannot continue their work, with the exception of essential government projects.
The project timeline gets extended due to the suspension of construction work. Builders may face penalties under RERA for delays in handing over possession.
Construction workers who work on daily wages have no work to do. Many of them are returning to their hometowns, resulting in the loss of their jobs.
Under GRAP Stage 3, trucks carrying materials like sand & cement are restricted.
